Robert "R.J." Roussell, 82, of Troy, MO, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015. He was born on April 30, 1932, the son of George and Ethel (Baker) Roussell in Chadwick, MO. After attending local schools, R.J. joined the military in 1951 and he began his service in the United States Army. During his service, he fought in the Korean War, and obtained the rank of Sergeant. On February of 1954, he was honorably discharged and worked as a tool & die maker. R.J. worked for Sears and then worked at General Motors in Wentzville as a tooling supervisor. He was a hard worker and retired after 30 years of dedicated service at G.M. When he was not working, he was spending time with his family and friends.
May 27, 1994 in Troy, MO, he married Janice K. Crane and they enjoyed many wonderful years together. As long as he was able, he enjoyed working outside cutting the grass, taking care of the lake, or whatever else needed tending to. In later years, he truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and darling great-grandchildren. R.J. will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Roussell of Troy, his son, Robert L. Roussell of Cahokia, his step-son Tony Knox of Troy, and step-daughter, Gina Morrison of Troy, two grandchildren: Travis and wife Gabby Morrison of Elsberry, and Kody Skirvin of Elsberry, two great-grandchildren: Kayla and Katelyn Morrison of Elsberry, one brother, John Paul and his wife Linda Roussell of Springfield, MO, and two sisters: Jackie Locke of Springfield, MO, and Phyllis Jean Rickman of Springfield, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Mary Ann (Riepe).
A memorial service will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in Chadwick Memorial Cemetery, with military honors provided by National Guard Bravo Team. Local arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
