Robert "Lanky" Phillips

Robert "Lanky"� Phillips, age 72, of Bruner, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in his home. He was born May 17, 1940, in Bruner, the son of Raymond Henry and Inis (Letterman) Phillips. In April of 1961 he and Betty Jean Dickson were united in marriage. Lanky and Betty lived and raised their six children in Bruner. Throughout his working career Lanky worked as a mechanic, truck driver and farmer. In years past he enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He was a Christian and attended church when possible. Survivors include his six children, Christine Flood and Kennie of Hurley, Brenda Smith of Sparta, David Phillips and Susan of Bruner, Linda Mitchell and Bill of Chadwick, Carol Coffer and Jim, of Rogersville, and Danny Lee Phillips and Dawn of Raymore; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Griffin; a brother, Paul Phillips; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2002, a brother, Norman Phillips and his parents. A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Temple Hill Cemetery, Bruner. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
