Robert Lancaster

Robert Allan Lancaster, age 78, of Nixa passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. He was born December 26, 1937 in Maquoketa, IA to George and Helen (Turner) Lancaster. Robert joined the Navy in 1956, retiring as a chief radioman in 1975. He served aboard many submarines, diesel and nuclear powered. Robert married Kathryn Sobanski in 1960 in Newington, CT. Robert was a member of United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), Masons, and the American Legion. He was a volunteer with several law enforcement agencies including the Christian County Sheriff's Office. He took a lot of pride in his community service. Robert will be missed by all of those who loved him and he will be in our hearts forever. Robert is survived by his wife Kathryn of 56 years; children Robert Jr. of Springfield OR, Michael (Debra) of Hollister, Susan (Brian) Glynn of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; a brother Tom of Davenport, IA; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Wally. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield with full military honors Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
