Robert (Bob) Koehn, age 84, of Nixa passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014. He was born November 24, 1929, in Cimarron, KS, to Simon and Eva (Ratzlaff) Koehn. He was united in marriage to Delores Tapp, February 6, 1953, in Springfield, TN. Bob went to Kansas State Teachers College, in Emporia Kansas, graduating with Master's degree in Education. Bob became a high school teacher. Bob loved sports. He coached all of the high school sports, but he mostly coached Football and Track.
Bob loved to travel with his family during his summer breaks from school. He and his family traveled all over the country snow skiing, and enjoying nature. While he and his family lived in Alaska, he taught his family how to hunt moose, bear, and deer, and fish for salmon, crab, and digging clams. Bob was very active and loved the outdoors. Bob was physically fit, and went to the gym often.
Bob loved the Lord attended Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Nixa. He was faithful in his attendance, and made sure his family also attended.
Bob is survived by his children, Kelly Koehn, of Chandler, AZ, Lexine Leonhart, and her husband David, of Nixa, Brian Koehn, of Bryant, AR; Grandchildren Michael Frazer, of Oklahoma City, OK, Alexis Leonhart and Makaila Leonhart, of Nixa; a sister-in-law Louise Gustafson, and her husband Bill, of Mississippi, and Gertrude Koehn, of Wellington, KS.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Delores; brothers Vernon Koehn, Ed Koehn, Earl Koehn, Ralph Koehn, Tom Koehn, and Don Koehn; and sisters, Freida, Koehn-Edwards, and Norma Jean Koehn-Gechter.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Cimarron Cemetery, in Cimarron, KS.
