Robert W. Dyer Jr.

  Robert "Bob" Wallace Dyer Jr., age 77, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. He was born on February 13, 1947, in Gardner, Maine to Robert Wallace Dyer Sr. and Lillian Whitmore.

   Bob was married to Maylee "May" Frances Leonard on September 6, 1968, and they recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Raised in Richmond, Maine, Bob began pastoring in the late 1970s and was dedicated to his faith throughout his life.

  He is survived by his wife, May, of the home; a son, Robert E. Dyer, and his wife Apryle of Springfield; a daughter, April Wood, and her husband Jason, of the home; and a stepson, Ronald Lee Harriman of Chelsea, Maine. He is also survived by two brothers, Hugh Dyer and his wife Laurie and Kurt Dyer and his wife Corol; three sisters, Carol Golding and her husband Micky, Amber Ruby and her husband Greg, and Jackie Jewell and her husband Harold; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Walley Dyer and Joseph Whitmore, and his sister Marjorie Gurney.

  A committal service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.

  Bob’s deep love for God and his family was central to his life, and he will be fondly remembered for his kindness, service, and devotion.

  The family requests that no floral arrangements be sent or presented.
