Robert Samuel Donham

Robert (Bob) Donham, age 94, of Nixa, Mo. passed away on Dec. 1, 2015 at Nixa Nursing & Rehab. Bob was born May 31, 1921 in Concordia, Ks. to Robert Barton Donham & Martha Ellen (McKee) Donham. After living in Kansas & Nebraska, Bob's family moved to Highlandville, MO area early in his childhood. Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Bolin on May 6th, 1944. They had 71 wonderful years together. Bob & Mary lived in Highlandville on their farm until 2003. They both loved working together on their farms and raising beef cattle & hogs. At one time, Bob had over 100 hogs and ran a dairy farm. After leaving their farm, they moved to Nixa. Mary was his true love and they were always together. They enjoyed traveling after retirement and visited all 50 states on many Sunnyland tours. Bob worked at the Nixa Cheese Plant for a few years before going to work for Hiland Dairy. He retired from Hiland Dairy after more than 25 yrs of service. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ellen, sisters, Jessie Doner & Pat Page, sister-in-law, Maxine Bolin, brothers-in-law, Chet Doner & Lynn Page. Survivors include his loving wife Mary, brother, Richard (Dick) Donham & wife, Colleen, brothers-in-law, Claude Bolin, Roger Bolin & wife, Betty, nieces, nephews, family, & friends. Bob was a member of Highlandville First Baptist Church. Mary would like to thank Nixa Nursing & Rehab staff (assisted living & skilled care) as well as Mercy Hospice for their care & compassion for Bob. Funeral services are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be Thurs., Dec 3rd at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 2:00 P.M. with burial at Highlandville Cemetery. Pastor Les Day will officiate.
