Robert “Bob” L. Craig, 83, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on June 24, 1941, in Canton, Ohio, to Mary Lucille and Robert Eugene Craig.

 Bob grew up in Kirksville, Missouri, and graduated from high school in 1959. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army, serving a tour of duty in Korea. Upon returning home, Bob attended Truman State University, where he met Iris Lowenberg. They married in 1966 and welcomed their daughter, Mary Katheryn “Kathy” in 1968.

  For nearly 30 years, Bob worked as a Wildlife Biologist with the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission. He was a licensed pilot of both airplanes and helicopters and shared his passion for flying by teaching lessons at the local airport. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

  After Iris’s passing in 1997, Bob retired in 1998. In 2001, he married Correne Hume, and the couple relocated to Nixa, Missouri, in 2002. Bob was known for his kindhearted nature, quick sense of humor, and steadfast friendships.

  Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Correne Craig; his daughter, Mary Craig Fulk (Alan); and his sister, Susan E. Aldridge. He is also survived by Correne’s daughters, Lesli Nelson (Dale) and Wendy Hume Hayes (Kevin). He leaves behind two grandchildren, McKinley Fulk and Walker Fulk, and two nephews, Andrew Aldridge (Valeska) and Anson Aldridge (Brandi). He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Iris Craig, and his brother, Tom Craig.

  In honoring Bob's wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, located at 109 North Truman Blvd., Nixa, Missouri 65714 with Mike Casey officiating. Additionally, a Celebration of Life is being planned to commemorate Bob’s birthday in June 2025. The family deeply appreciates your kind thoughts and prayers during this time.
