Robert (Bob) James Van Gyzen

Robert "Bob" James Van Gyzen, 84, passed away on March 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving children and grandsons. He was born on October 26, 1938, to James Van Gyzen and Ida (Thibault) Van Gyzen in Seekonk, Massachusetts. Bob met his beautiful wife Arlene and was united in marriage on August 29, 1959, and had four beautiful children.

Bob worked at 3M Corporation over 20 years and made a lot of life-long friends. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing his guitar, and loved to fish. Arlene and Bob loved and spent time together rescuing pugs. He was a great man and father to his children, he always gave great advice and made sure that he guided them in the right direction. He was always there for his children when they needed him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, along with a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Bob is survived by his daughter Joyce Van Gyzen; daughter Tracey Scritchfield; son Bobby Van Gyzen; grandchildren Jordan James Van Gyzen, Carson Chrsitopher Van Gyzen, Joshua J. Brown Forseman, Krysta N. Brown Forseman, Michael K. Adams, Madison Brooke, Scritchfield, Riley James Scritchfield; great-granchildren Ashton Adams, Thomas Adams, Damion Duffey, Devin Duffey, and Jameson Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ida Van Gyzen, wife Arlene Van Gyzen,; daughter Renee Powers; grandsons Russell Lee Powers and Nicholas Jerry Powers.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
