Robert Wayne Baker, age 54, of Nixa, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014, in Tulsa, OK, after a valiant battle with cancer. Robert was born December 1, 1959, in Springfield, to Earl and JoAnn (Anglin) Baker. After graduating high school Robert joined the Navy and served on the USS Sacramento. After serving his country, Robert met and married the love of his life, Paula Moore on April 27, 1985. Robert was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Robert was outspoken, you didn't have to wonder what he was thinking. He was a person you could go to and was always there to help, and was always reliable. Robert was a man of faith and loved the Lord. He loved to bowl and travel on cruise ships with his wife, Paula. Robert loved his family and his kids, especially his grandson, Wyatt. Paula said Robert was the best husband anyone could ask for and he always made her laugh.
Robert is survived by his father, Earl, of Battlefield; wife Paula; a son Robbie Baker, and his fianc� Heidi, of Nixa; a daughter Kristen Baker, of Nixa; his grandson Wyatt, of Nixa; a brother Richard Baker and wife Victoria, of Springfield; and a sister Karla Nash and husband Mike, of Norphlet, AR.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother JoAnn.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in the Nixa First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. A visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Adams Funeral home, Nixa.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
