Riki is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan and children, Korbin Dale, 12, Shawn Steven, 11, and Samantha Leslie, 7, of the home in Nixa, MO. Also, she is survived by her brother, Stevie Nusz, of New York State, her parents, Dale and Debra Bolton and Leslie Nusz, and her grandmothers, Tina Ochoa, Montrose, Colorado, and Leona Nusz, Montezuma, Kansas. Riki was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Frank T. Hernandez and Leo Nusz. She is survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and some very close friends whom she coined "The Village".
Riki grew up in Southwest Kansas attending Ingalls High School where she was on the cheerleading squad as the school's mascot, Spike. She loved writing poetry, too. While in school, Riki played basketball and was on the swim team. During school, Riki worked at the Ingalls Caf where she was a very popular waitress. She left Ingalls High School her senior year to graduate with her friends at Garden City High School in the class of 2000.
Riki attended Garden City Community College and Ozark Technical College.
Her great love was "cooking for the masses" especially "The Village". She was a fabulous bread baker and cook. She had even won regional and state prizes for some of her original recipes. Riki created wonderful meals, weekly, for her family and friends. As an expert cake decorator, Riki made the wedding cakes for many family members and friends, traveling as far as Western Colorado and Arkansas to present her cakes.
Riki worked in school nutrition programs and currently was the Director of Nutrition Services for Spokane School District. She was loved and respected by those with whom she worked.
As a devoted wife and mother, Riki spent any free time with her husband as they supported their children in varying school activities, such as band, and sports activities: football, soccer, gymnastics, and swimming.
The Warner Family enjoyed riding their 4-Wheelers at land near Crane and at Chadwick in the Mark Twain National Forest. Most of all they loved being with "The Village" with Riki at the center of all the social activities. Live music concerts was another special passion for Riki and her family.
Riki Lee Warner will be missed for her generosity, her great smile, her intelligence, her devotion to motherhood, her talents, and her ability to "adopt" those with fewer resources than herself.
