Richard John McVey

Richard John McVey, age 76 of Nixa, died December 17, 2024. He was born April 27, 1948 in Nuremberg, Germany, the son of John and Anne (Michelzoebelein) McVey. 

Richard served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. Later he worked for C.T.I. 

On April 16, 1971 he was united in marriage to Renate McVey in Thailand.

Survivors include: his wife, Renate McVey; children, Timothy McVey and partner Pete Johnson, Michelle Clifton, Alex McVey and wife Addison; granddaughter, Elise Clifton; great grandson, Augustus Woods; two brothers, Timothy McVey and wife Kaye and Robert McVey and wife Carol; nieces and nephews and his beloved cats and dogs. 

Richard enjoyed gardening, cooking, collecting, listening to music and traveling. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and a son in law, Nathan Clifton.

A committal service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
