Richard Lee "Dick" Donham

   Richard Lee "Dick" Donham, age 95 of Highlandville, passed away January 25, 2024. He was born March 27, 1928 in McCook, Nebraska, the son of Robert B. and Ella "McKee" Donham.  

   At the age of four, he moved with his family to Missouri.  After graduating from Highlandville High School, Dick joined the Army Air Force where he served 10 months until World War II ended.  He was drafted into the army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after serving two years.  

     After returning home, Dick married Mary "Colleen" Donham on November 15, 1952.  They celebrated 71 wonderful years together this past November.  Dick and Colleen were blessed with three sons whom they love dearly:  Richard Jay Donham, Robert Lee Donham, and David Lynn Donham.  He was a devoted father who never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family.  He spent over three decades at Lily Tulip/Sweetheart Cup before retiring in  1988.  Dick loved traveling and outdoors.  He spent time fishing, hunting and working on the farm with his wife, boys and grandchildren.  

     Dick is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Colleen Donham; his son, David Donham and wife Jeanie and a granddaughter, Rachel Donham; two grandsons, Josh Donham and wife Katie and Bob Donham, all of Highlandville; and two great grandsons, Gavin and Luke.

     Dick was preceded in death by his parents; two beloved sons, Robert “Bob” Donham and Richard “Rick” Donham; two sisters; and a brother.

     A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Rick Washam officiating.  Burial will follow at Highlandville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
