Ralph Milton Shockley, age 93, of Springfield, passed away March 18, 2014. He was born August 12, 1920, in Springfield to Howard & Gladys Shockley. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. On May 21, 1960 Ralph was married to Lois Holden. Ralph worked for many years even after retirement as a printing pressman. Ralph was very adventurous and enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends at the lake. Ralph was a stranger to nobody and always had a story to tell. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Geraldine Goswick.
He is survived by his wife Lois Shockley of the home; a daughter, Kay Elaine Shockley and husband Keith Miller; two grandchildren, Sean and Eric Anderson; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, March 24, 2014 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Rev. Iromar Schreiber and Rev. Jeff Sippy officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to service time. Burial will follow the service in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors.
