Ralph Davis, age 90, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013, in his home, after a long illness. He was born to Homer and Virginia (Davis) Davis, in Walnut Ridge, AR, June 10, 1923. He was raised in Poplar Bluff, MO, until age 19, when he joined the Army Air Corps in 1942. Ralph was united in marriage to Jo Harvey, January 23, 1943. Ralph served in World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam, before retiring from the Air Force in 1969. After his Air Force Career, Ralph was a real estate agent for many years and later was an appraiser, until he retired. His family describes Ralph as a kind, gentle, and patient man. Ralph was an Elder at his church for many years, and served as a Sunday school teacher. Ralph was an avid golfer, and loved to play his guitar and sing. Ralph was well thought of by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: his children, Jeanne Peters, Nixa, Carol Keller, and husband Larry, of Castle Rock, AR, James Davis and wife Jonna, of Cincinnati, OH, Siblings, Betty Threlkeld, and husband Mitch, of Poplar Bluff, Irene Warren, of Poplar Bluff, and Bob Davis, and wife Marna, of Dexter. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Jo, of 67 years.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Fair Haven Children"�s Home, 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757.
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Noon, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Steve Martin, and Jim Sneed officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to Noon, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors.
