Rafaela Gonzalez, age 76, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away in her home Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was born November 21, 1940 in Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Salvador and Carmen Campos. On June 21, 1958 she and Atanacio Gonzalez were married in Mexico. They came to the United States in 1977. Together with their family they lived in California before moving to the Ozarks.
Rafaela loved her family and worked hard to provide a loving home for them. She was faithful to the Catholic Church throughout her life. Rafaela enjoyed gardening, singing, drawing, and cooking for her family.
Survivors include: Her husband, Atanacio; eleven children, Guillermina Zuniga, Armandina Skeen, Eliseo Gonzalez, Alicia Marquez, Irma Duarte, Amparo De La Rosa, Celia Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Margarita Hinds, Socorro Crossland, and Guadalupe Gonzalez; her 19 grandchildren who fondly called her "Abuelita"; three sisters, Dolores Alvarez, Guadalupe Del Real, and Amalia Campos; three brothers, Angel Campos, Salvador Campos and Ramon Campos; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Enrique Gonzalez; a brother Antonio Campos, and two sisters, Maria Campos and Carmen Campos.
A funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 19, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Ozark, Missouri with Father Gaspar Masilamani officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, St. Joseph The Worker section, Ozark. A wake and Rosary service will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 18, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa.
