Phyllis Jean Wilcox, age 81 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014. She was born September 3, 1932 in Springfield, the daughter of Ernest L. and Edna Cleo (Gardner) Queen.
Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield.
On July 11, 1951 Phyllis was united in marriage to Elbert F. "Bus" Wilcox.
Phyllis worked as a probation officer in Colorado and in Springfield, Missouri. She had a strong sense of right and wrong, and helped many people - from the homeless to the drug addicted.
Survivors include: her husband, Bus Wilcox, Ozark; five children, Michael S. Wilcox and wife Edie, Kansas, Julie Wilcox, Washington, Russ Wilcox and wife Emily, Texas, Tim Wilcox and wife Lisa, Colorado and John Wilcox, Ozark; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Juanita Evans, Springfield and June Pertuche, Springfield.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Bud Queen.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Michael Wilcox officiating.
