Phillip West

Phillip D. West, age 70 of Nixa Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 from an extended illness. He was born August 8, 1946 in Muncie Indiana. Phillip was a former resident of New Castle, Indiana. While residing in New Castle he was employed with Daimler Chrysler for a short period of time. He then went on to work for the New Castle School Corporation as a janitor, where he was loved by students and staff alike. Mr. West was known for his positive attitude, generous heart and infectious smile. He retired in 2007. He moved to Nixa Missouri in 2010 to be closer to his grandchildren. Phillip was a devoted husband of 46yrs. He was a caring and loving father to his children and a great role model and father figure to countless others. He was an outstanding grandfather and adored his grandchildren who were his world. Phillip was a hardworking, full of life,fun loving man. He never knew a stranger and lived a selfless life; giving to everyone who crossed his path. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Marye West; daughter, Kourtney West-Sanders, her husband Tim Sanders of Nixa; a son, Blake West , his Fiance, Katie McClure of New Castle Indiana, Skott Taylor and Brandi Jackson; grandson's, Abram Sanders and Beckham Sanders of Nixa, Benjamin West of New Castle IN; sister-in-laws, Jeri Taylor of Nixa, Dawn Files of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kai Taylor of Indianapolis IN; the late, Adrian Taylor; brother-in-law Marc Taylor of New Castle, IN and Lon Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Wednesday until service time.
