Phillip W. Leininger, age 89 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. He was born June 26, 1926 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the son of George and Alda (Wiley) Leininger.
Phillip served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines Campaign.
On December 6, 1947 Phillip married the love of his life, Dorothy Hall.
Phillip retired from the City of Stillwater where he had been an assistant supervisor for the electric department.
Phillip was a member of the Lutheran Church in Stillwater, where his grandfather was a founding member. After moving to Ozark, he attended Selmore Baptist Church.
Phillip enjoyed work, gardening, trail riding, good food and bible study.
Survivors include: four children, Phyllis Jean Haskett, Joan Evans and husband Arvin, Will Leininger and Cecilia Sainato and husband Edward; three grandchildren, Brian Evans, Ed Evans and Joseph Sainato; and four great grandchildren, Kori Evans, Ryan Evans, Aryn Butler and Ryan Butler.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a granddaughter, Alyssa Leininger; and his sister, Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Zion Lutheran Church, Stillwater. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
