Peggy Joyce (Sturgeon) Hardin, age 91 of Nixa, passed away November 15, 2021. She was born November 2, 1930 in Kennett, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Andrew and Vi Lettie (Jackson) Sturgeon.
On September 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Hardin.
Peggy was a member of First Assembly of God in Caruthersville, Missouri. Later when she and Charles moved to Nixa, they attended First Assembly of God in Nixa. Peggy had retired from Sears after 35 years. She greatly enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Survivors include: a daughter, Shelley LaForge and husband Larry of Nixa; a granddaughter, Melissa Barnard and husband Rich of Nixa; a grandson, Aaron LaForge of Manchester, Connecticut; two great grandsons, Clay Barnard of Murray, Kentucky and Christian Barnard of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Vickie Young of Kennett, Missouri; a brother, Harold Sturgeon and wife Barbara of West Memphis, Arkansas; and a sister in law, Eloise Allison of Destin, Florida.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and a sister.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Larry Griffin officiating. Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
