Pauline Parker

Pauline (Gum) Parker went to be with her Savior February 6th, 2017 at the age of 90. She passed away at her daughter's home in Springfield, MO with her daughter Penny by her side. She was born October 13, 1926 near Powell, MO to Jasper and Cora (Lawson) Gum, and was married to Charles G. Parker August 13th, 1946. They lived for a number of years at Lanagan and Aurora, MO prior to moving to Ozark, MO in 1972, where she resided until the time of her death. Pauline accepted Christ at the age of 20 and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She always put the needs of others before her own and displayed compassion for those in need by religiously giving to friends, family, missionaries, and a multitude of charitable organizations. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, sitting by her wood fireplace, watching Fox News Channel, and caring for her beloved cats Honey and Molly. Pauline was known by those who loved her as someone who held a positive outlook on life and was always there to lend an encouraging word. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Charles in February, 1999, her parents, two brothers, Noel Gum and Lowell Gum, three sisters, Ivetta Henry, Lena Gum, and Margaret Price. She is survived by one daughter, Penny Coleman and her husband John, two granddaughters, Shelby Little and her husband Clinton, and Andrea Bernskoetter and her husband Alex, one great-grandson, Isaac Charles Little, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new great-granddaughter due in March. She is also survived by a number of other relatives, friends, and caring neighbors. In accordance with her wishes, a Celebration of Pauline's life will be held at Union Cemetery south of Longview, MO on Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, MO, Friday, February the 10th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. In memory and honor of Pauline's giving spirit, those who desire may make donations to: Springfield Victory Mission (PO Box 2884, Springfield MO 65801) or Gideons International - Springfield South Camp who distributes Bibles around the world (P.O Box 4221 Springfield MO 65808).
