Paul Ray Payne

Paul Ray Payne, age 59 of Seymour, passed away December 26, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle against cancer. He was born January 14, 1958 in Springfield, the son of Jim and Gloria (Bough) Payne. Paul worked for General Electric for 34 years. His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry, horses, hunting, and fishing. Paul especially enjoyed spending time with his son and grandkids. On April 4, 1980 Paul was united in marriage to Kathy (Maggard). Survivors include: his wife, Kathy Payne; son, Michael Payne and wife, Katie; grandchildren, Miranda, Matthew, and Jace Payne; step sister, Debbie; step brother, Randy; brother and sister in law, Rick and Cassie Maggard; niece, Chloe; and nephew, Cory. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; a step brother, Mike; grandparents, Fred and Clara Bough; and in laws, Hosea and Alma Maggard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Highlonesome, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Gene Crewse officiating. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
