Patricia Teaney, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home in Seymour, MO, on January 4, 2019. She was born June 15, 1934 to Maurice Hill and Dorothy Cooke Hill, in Helena, AR. She graduated from Central High School, and worked for several years at the Bobbie Brooks clothing plant, where she met her future husband, Don Teaney, whom she married on December 11, 1963.
Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She gave all of herself to those that she loved. Growing up in Helena, AR, she helped raise her four younger siblings, and worked to help make the house payments, all while going to school, after her beloved father became ill, and they fell on hard times. After she married Don, she carried her nurturing nature into the role of motherhood, which she loved. Her children and grandchildren are her greatest legacy.
Her hobbies were cooking, reading and sewing. She also loved to travel, and she and Don traveled extensively over their 51 � year marriage, including a very special trip to New Zealand, for their 30th anniversary.
She is survived by her children, Gary Teaney and wife,
Anita, Tampa, FL, Mark Teaney and wife, Hallie, Bath, NC, Pam Harp and husband, Keith, Nixa, Stacy Callaway and husband, Larry, Pleasant Hope, Michael Teaney and wife, Carina, Seymour. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, whom she adored. She was devoted to her family, and her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as "Gugu."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Don Teaney, a son, Paul Teaney, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, at the Youth Worship Center at South Gate Baptist Church, Springfield, MO. Cremation was handled under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, MO.
