Orville R. Keltner, age 89, a lifelong resident of the Highlandville area, died November 4, 2012, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mrs. Anna Keltner of Highlandville; two children, Donna K. Thomas and Bob of Battlefield, and Ron Keltner and Laine of Ormond Beach, Florida; three grandchildren Terry Thomas and Dean Green of Springfield, Mike Thomas and Melisa of Willard, Aaron Keltner and Karen of Columbia; two great-grandchildren, Katherine and Tessa Keltner. Orville was a lifelong farmer, electrician, and estimator for local electrical companies. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and served on the mine sweeper OSPRY which he was aboard when it was hit during the D Day Operation. He received the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during the invasion. He loved his Lord and served him through his church. He was a member of Chestnutridge Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, November 7, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Gary Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 11:30 pm until service time on Wednesday.
