Norman Eugene Orr, age 70, of Nixa, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born in Norwalk California, May 14, 1944, the son of Wendell and Thelma (Thompson) Orr. Norman served in the U. S, Army during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage to Ginny Anderson, December 17, 1967, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Norman worked as a truck driver most of his life. Most recently, he worked for Highland Express Transportation, which transports military recruits to the recruiting stations, across the country. Norman was an area supervisor, which he supervised many districts. Norman enjoyed his job very much. Norman loved fishing. He and friends took annual trips to Canada to fish for Pike. He took his nephews to the same location in remembrance of his fishing partner and brother-in-law, Robert Anderson. Norman also like antique cars, and buying and selling cars. His family says he always had something to sell. Norman was a devoted father and grandfather.
Norman is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughters Sherri Peterson, and her husband Troy, of Battlefield, and Tracy Harris, and her husband Jeff, of Nixa; four granddaughters Haley and Allison Adams, of Battlefield, and Morgan and Riley Harris, of Nixa.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
