Norman Gerald Day, age 77, of Nixa passed away Monday, August 1, 2016. He was born November 7, 1938 in Centerville to Bernell and Frances (Graham) day. Growing up in St.Louis, Norman was a member of Bee Fork United Baptist Church near Ceneterville, where he was baptized at the age of 12. Norman was an avid dancer, loved music and loved to travel. He sang throughout the day, and knew many songs. Norman loved life and was very active. In his younger days, Norman loved to hunt and fish. Norman was a freight handler for many years. When he retired, he and Joyce travelled the country in their R.V. for over six years.
Norman is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 48 years; a son Randall Day, his wife Merry, of CT; a daughter Lucinda Little, her husband David, of Greenville, SC; two granddaughters Rebecca Little and Cory Little; a step son Tim; two sisters Phyllis Allison, and Joyce Trabue; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Pastor Gary Swearengin officiating.
