Norman Mack Barrow, age 80, passed away in Springfield, Missouri, on October 17, 2013. He was born March 30, 1933, in Litchfield, Arkansas, the son of Malcolm and Mary (Rogers) Barrow. Norman grew up in Paragould, Arkansas. The family moved to Michigan and Norman graduated from Bendle High School in Burton, Michigan. On April 20, 1952, he and Gloria Joanne Ostrander were united in marriage. He was a long time resident of Flint, Michigan. Throughout his working career Norman was a commercial sheet metal journeyman and carpenter. He had also owned a recreational vehicle business. He was an avid reader, enjoying his pipe, and educating himself through books and magazines. He was interested in vintage motorcycles, cars and racing. Norman, always a carpenter, had refinished two wooden cabin cruisers. He was a member of Flint Masonic Lodge #490. He was devoted to his family, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren enjoyed stories told by "Bumpa"�. He was fond of all animals, and especially was a friend to dogs, cats, and his special rabbit "Lonesome"�. In 2000 the family moved to Virginia. They had lived in North Carolina for five years before moving to Ozark recently. Survivors include: His wife, Gloria; three children, Lynn Rene Mark, of Ozark; Jeffrey Norman Barrow and wife Ruth of Graham, North Carolina; and Lori Barrow of Flint, Michigan; three grandchildren, Anthony Michael Shepse, Taylor M"�Lynn Mark and Samuel Lee Barrow; two sisters, Jean Richardson and Sue Harris, both of Millington, Michigan; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wava Lou Duton. According to Norman"�s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
