In loving memory of Norma "Marie" Whisnant:
Norma "Marie" Whisnant, aged 80, of Clever, departed this world on Monday, May 6, 2024. She was born in Ozark, the cherished daughter of William Paul and Estie (Little) Martin Dougan on July 19, 1943.
A woman of many talents and unwavering, Marie devoted years of service at York Products before embarking on a well-deserved retirement. Her passions were abundant and diverse - from the gentle art of sewing to cultivating vibrant blooms in her garden. She was a talented quilter, sewing quilts for family members for Christmas. Marie found joy in the warmth of family gatherings and in extending a helping hand to her community through involvement with food pantries in Clever and Billings, and the Clever Senior Citizens. Nature held a special place in her heart, as she savored camping escapades and cherished every moment shared at family reunions. Card games brought merriment to her days, but above all, nothing rivaled the time spent with her beloved family. Her faith was steadfast as a member of Clever First Baptist Church.
Marie leaves behind a profound legacy within the hearts of those who survive her: her children Wayne Maggard, Richard Maggard and his wife Conita, and Anita Smith and her husband Dwight; her grandchildren Tommy Maggard, Derek Maggard and his wife Cassie, Kenny Maggard and his wife Madison, Kesha Abbott and her husband Brandon, Cary Haworth and his wife Tiffany, Kelsey Haworth, Amanda Smith, Aaron Smith, Lauren Smith, Russell Silva and wife Amy, Jessica Allen, Joshua Summers, Blake and Savannah Ivey; 14 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren; along with her siblings Nita Freeman and her husband Paul, Jimmy Martin and his wife Janet, and Christy Tabor.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her son, Keith Allen; and her brother, John Martin.
Friends and family are invited to honor Marie's life at a funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. The service will be officiated by Pastor Luke Harding followed by burial at Eisenhour Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
In the tapestry of Marie's life remains a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
