Norma Jean Maples, age 79, of Highlandville, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was born in Chestnutridge on June 24, 1938, the daughter of Samuel and Ellie (Mason) Linebaugh. On March 1, 1955, she and Dearl Maples were married.
Norma worked for Fasco Industries for 35 years. She was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church in Spokane, and most recently attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church near her home. Norma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She put her family above herself and loved each one. She enjoyed shopping and visiting with friends. She also liked to travel when she was able.
Survivors include: Son, Roger Maples and wife Bobby; grandchildren, Jennifer Maples, Brad Maples, Logan Maples, and Laken Maples; great-grandchildren, Cloe, Devin, Caleb, and Jase Maples; a sister, Charlice Crumpley; a brother, Roscoe "Cotton" Linebaugh; cherished nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Dearl in 1984; two sons, Leon Maples and Mark Maples; three grandchildren, Charles Maples, Tyrell Maples, and Catherine Rose Maples; two brothers, Loren Linebaugh and Ronnie Linebaugh; and two sisters, Ruth Gill, and Novella Thomas.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be in Tory Cemetery, Highlandville.
