Galena - Noah D. (Doug) Anderson, Sr. of Galena, KS and formerly Elwood, Indiana passed away peacefully July 7th, 2017 at Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO. Noah was born August 30th, 1942 in Elwood, Indiana to Noah C. Anderson and Virgie V. Jarrett. His parents preceded him in death.
Noah attended high school in Elwood before joining the U.S. Army and serving in the Vietnam War. He loved his family, the Chicago Cubs, his friends, nature and good-hearted laughter. To be loved by him was to be teased by him. Noah was always there to help a friend in need and take something old and make it new again. He was a proud member of the Baxter Springs American Legion and participated in local fundraising events.
Survivors include son Noah D. Anderson, Jr. (fianc� Dora Beck) of Laketon, Indiana and daughter Kari L. Powell (husband Chad) of Marion, Indiana; three grandchildren, Tyler Anderson, Ashley Powell, and Dakota Anderson. One sister, Edith M Smith of Alexandria, Indiana and nieces Vickie Edgeman and Lorena McCorkle and nephews Ralph Marcum and Jeffrey Marcum, all of Indiana.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29th at House of Prayer, 6090 S. East Highway Alt. 69, Riverton, KS officiated by Audie Cash, pastor.
