Neva Norene Vaughan, age 92, of Nixa, formerly a long time resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016. She was born March 31, 1923 in Dykes, MO, the daughter of Elmer Franklin and Ona Cordelia (Collins) Campbell. After high school Neva attended Missouri State Teacher's College in Springfield. On December 11, 1943 she and Clyde Cecil Vaughan were united in marriage.
Neva had been a teacher, and worked for Hagale Garment Factory in Ozark. She was a longtime faithful member of Cassidy United Methodist Church. Neva was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and found the best in everyone she met.
She is survived by: three children and their spouses, Carolyn and Jim Deke of Nixa, Gary and Cindy Vaughan of Slidell, LA, and Tommy and Dixie Vaughan of Tehachapi, CA; seven grandchildren, Shannon Deke and Angela of Nixa, Vonda Holland and Mike of Nixa, Amy Haskell and Jeff of Austin, TX, Matt Vaughan and Suzy of New Orleans, LA, Ryan Vaughan and Kim of Ventura, CA, Jessie Vaughan and Anna of Lake Chatsworth, CA, and Rachel Vaughan of Austin, TX; six great-grandchildren, Morgan Towe and Blake, Evan Deke, Camryn Deke, Austin Koehler, Judah and Justus Vaughan; two great-great-grandchildren, Ethan Koehler and Finleigh Towe; a sister Edith Lemons and Dale of Springfield, a brother Elvin Campbell and Lily of Kansas City; two sisters-in-law, Fran Campbell and Wilma Campbell; and a brother-in-law Ralph Busch.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Clyde in 1981; her parents; brothers and sisters, Emmett Campbell, Eldon Campbell, Edna Busch, Norma Wood and Ethmer Campbell.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 18, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Charlene Dart officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
