Nellie Ruth Frangella, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on February 7, 2025. She was born on May 10, 1937, in Ecru, Mississippi, to A.J. and Beatrice (Thomas) Owens.
Nellie grew up in Ecru and graduated from Ecru High School in 1955. Shortly after, she set out on a new adventure, traveling to Joliet, Illinois, where she began working at Caterpillar. It was there that she met the love of her life, Joe Frangella. The two were married on March 3, 1956, and together they built a beautiful life, raising five children, two daughters and three sons.
Nellie had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether taking a peaceful walk or working in her yard, she found joy in nature and simple moments of quiet beauty. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always placing family at the center of her life. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by three children: Bonnie Lynn Frangella of Nixa, Linda Jolene Frangella of Nixa, and David Lee Frangella of New Market, TN; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and countless friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Frangella; two sons, Dale Glen Frangella and Randy Joseph Frangella; her parents; and her brother, Lowrey Joe Owens.
