Neal Tullis Jr., age 64, of Salem, Missouri, passed away in the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Galena, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He was born August 7, 1950 in Fresno, California, the son of Neal Tullis Sr., and Mary E. (Long) Tullis.
Neal served his country in the U.S. Army. His service included Vietnam, Desert Storm and other overseas deployments. He received a purple heart and retired as Staff Sergeant E6. He also retired from the Civil Service ECS66 in 2010. Neal had a giving heart, often helping families in need. He loved working on his farm and raising cattle.
Survivors include: Two children, Tonya Holt and husband Dr. Billy Holt, of Galena, and Joe Tullis of Salem; his grandchildren, MacKenzie Adkins, Kiara Holt, and Noah Holt, and Autumn, Somer, Madison, Hailey, and Sean Tullis; a sister, Billie Owens of Blair, Oklahoma, and her family; and the mother of his children, Estelle Monje and husband Edward Monje of Rolla.
A memorial service will be in Anutt Community Church in Salem. The time will be announced when available.
