Nancy Jo Ann Hedgpeth, age 91, of Nixa, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020. She was born July 26, 1928 in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of Clarence H. and Edna Golden (Mapes) Sherer. She became a Christian at a young age. Nancy was a graduate of Ozark High School. On June 22, 1957 she and J.D. Hedgpeth were married.
Nancy worked alongside J.D. raising cattle and farming. She retired from the Missouri State Unemployment Service. Nancy enjoyed gardening, and being with her family. She was a 50 year member of Christian County Order of the Eastern Star, served on the Christian County Republican Women's Committee, and enjoyed the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include: Her son Terry Jim Hedgpeth and Carolyn Wilboughby of Nixa; two step-sons, Joe David Hedgpeth of Dogwood, and Ronald Gene Hedgpeth of Kimberling City; five grandchildren, Alisha Hedgpeth, Ward Lee Hedgpeth, Shannon K. Downs, Cole Hedgpeth, and Ashley Hedgpeth; step-grandchildren, Brandon Hedgpeth, David Hedgpeth, Jessie Hedgpeth, Elizabeth Hedgpeth, and Amanda Reagan; many great and great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: Her first husband, Roger Allen, her second husband Ward "Cotton" Hedgpeth, and her third husband, J.D. Hedgpeth; two sons, Roger Eugene Allen, and Tony J. Hedgpeth, and a brother, Clarence H. Sherer Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 24 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Rev. Danny Hartwell and Rev. Joseph Fahl officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM on Wednesday until service time in the funeral home.
