Mike Applegate

Michael Dean Applegate, age 66, of Nixa, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019. He was born March 4, 1953, in Bruner. He was a fabricator by trade, and was a fix-it man, always working on machines and whatever needed attention. As a musician, Mike enjoyed playing the fiddle and guitar. He loved to fish and hunt and made knives as a hobby. On May 28, 2010, he and Annette Jean George were married. Mike loved and enjoyed his kids, grandkids, and every family member. His parents, Kathryn (Abbott) Stutesmun and James "Dee" Applegate preceded Mike in death. He is survived by his wife, Annette Jean Applegate; children, Jennifer Applegate of Marionville, Mandi Lampe, Holly Toner and Ryan Applegate all of Nixa; step-children, Alicia Freeman-Robertson of Clever, and Justin Freeman of Nixa; grandchildren, Alea Applegate, Memphis and Emily Carter, Blake and Rheagan Applegate-Felty, and Melissa Hale; great granddaughter, Adaline Applegate; a sister, Connie Blevins of Nixa; a brother, Gary Applegate of Highlandville; step-brother and step-sister, Jamo Stutesmun and Maxine Grider. Visitation will be noon-2:00 PM Friday, August 9, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home, with burial following in Highlandville Cemetery.
