Michael S. Rose, age 64 of Nixa, passed away quietly at home on December 26, 2015 after a short illness due to lung cancer. He had also suffered from Hep C for many years. Michael was under the care of Mercy Hospice.
Michael was born in Oakland, California on February 4, 1951. He was married to the love of his life Colleen Zarate Rose for 28 years.
Michael worked as a truck driver delivering Foster Farms chickens in Livingston, California for several years. Then he moved to Missouri where he worked for Greene County as a heavy equipment operator for several years until he was forced to quit due to his health.
Michael is survived by his wife Colleen, two children, Sasha (Tim) Ashton of Oregon, and Michael (Monica) Rose of California, two step-children, Crystal (James) Wilson of Clever and Criag (Leann) of Nixa, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two sisters, Susan Salsedo, Loretta (Al) Silva and a brother Art (Donna) Rose, all from California. Michael also had numerous nieces and nephews in California
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Rose, a brother in law Johnny Salsedo, and his beloved dog Buff.
He loved to play golf with friends and play his guitars. He loved to talk to anyone who would listen and always had a story. Michael never knew a stranger.
The family will announce a date for a memorial service at a later time.
