Michael Leroy Martin

Michael Leroy Martin, age 70, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He was born June 1, 1943, in Oklahoma City, the son of Melvin Leroy and Mary Ruth (Jones) Martin. He proudly served his country in the Post Korean War Era. On July 18, 1962, he and Carol Sue Valentine were united in marriage. Before retirement, Michael was a realtor. He loved his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Music was his hobby; Michael played both the guitar and mandolin. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. Michael will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by wife Carol; a daughter, Maria Shade and husband Scott; grandsons Corey Schroeder, Mike Shade and wife Heather, and Matthew Shade; a granddaughter, Lindsay Schroeder; his father Melvin Martin and wife Judy; and a sister, Delia Nipp. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth, and a sister, Patricia Nugent. A memorial service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 31, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday.
