Michael "Mike" Douglas Cashion, 36; Devoted father, loving son, and amazing friend, a lifelong resident of Republic, Missouri, passed away at 12:33pm on March 30th, 2020.
Mike was born on September 20th, 1983 in Springfield, Missouri. Mike accomplished many things throughout his life and would be considered by most as a Jack-of-All-Trades. He loved to entertain, and he performed in several plays at Lander's Theatre. He graduated 2nd in his class from the Law Enforcement Academy at Drury University and had trained as an Electrician's Apprentice. He spent six months as a Safari Guide at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. He was an incredible cook, and there was not a piece of technology he didn't own, know about, or want. He kept late hours and was always good for a conversation over a cup of coffee even if you called him at 2 in the morning. Mike was a deep lover of sports. His teams were the Kansas City Chiefs and the North Carolina Tarheels. He loved his fantasy football league and was always up for the March Madness bracket each year. Though he was a fickle video gamer, Mike played across all platforms, and all his friends, both real and virtual, will miss him each week for their scheduled game night.
For a man that had so many talents and interests, there was no title more important to him than "Father." Mike has two children, Chloe Lucille Cashion, 13 and Jacob Michael Cashion, 12. Not a day went by that he didn't brag about them or have a story to tell about their exploits. There was never a father more proud of his children than Mike.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Charles "Chuck" Cashion.
He is survived by his mother, Tina Rezner Cashion; his two children Jacob Michael Cashion and Chloe Lucille Cashion; their mother, Brooksie Lane Kluge; and a large group of friends that for long time will laugh a little less and feel lonely a little more without Mike around.
An online memorial service will be on April 8th at 6pm. Donations to the family can be sent to 135 Timberland Dr. Billings, Mo 65610. If friends and family have cards, memories, or pictures they would like to share with Mike's children, Chloe and Jake, please send them to 401 North 22nd Street, St. Joseph, MO 64501.
