Melodie Ann Lee, age 75, of Ozark, passed away in her home surrounded by family October 26, 2019. She was born March 13, 1944 in the small coal town of Pottsville,
Pennsylvania. The daughter of John Everett Wright and Clara B. (Lessley) Wright. She was not seen by her father until he returned from WW2 in Europe when she was almost two years
old. Early on, the family moved to Washington DC then Haymarket Virginia and shortly thereafter to Suitland, MD where she graduated High School. She excelled in everything she was involved in. Additionally, she was a Cheerleader for her high school and the Prom Queen in her senior year of 1963.
Melodie's main career was as an office manager for a large furniture manufacturer. Later in life she moved to Ava, Missouri, then Rogersville and eventually the Ozark area. Of all her endeavors, she loved her cattle farm near Ava. She enjoyed all her animals, giving each a name and taking good care of them. Her hobbies were arts and crafts including painting, ceramics and scrapbooking. She was proud of her American heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Above all she loved her family. Survivors include her son, Weltie Michael White and wife Melody of Durham North Carolina. Her daughter Rebecca Brandani and husband David of Nixa, MO. In addition, her grandchildren and families of Jeremy, Eric, Jennifer, Taylor, Cassie and great-grandchildren Jade, Madison, Aubree, and Logan. Brother John Lessley Wright and wife Linda J. Wright of Solvang Ca. and sister Kathryn Francis (Wright) Houllis and husband Louis Houllis of Tarpon Springs, Fl.
Melodie was preceded in death by first husband Michael Weltie White and her husband William Lee and son James Lee and her parents.
A funeral service will be 12:30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 30. Location is Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time in the funeral home on Wednesday.
