Maxine Walker, age 85 of Nixa, passed away April 16, 2011. She was born September 8, 1925 in Cave Creek, Arkansas, the daughter of Claude E. and Sarah Jane (Shelton) Wade.
On November 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to Don E. Walker. He was the love of her life.
Maxine was an incredible homemaker, centering her life around her family. She was a devoted housewife and mother, always putting her husband and three boys first. Maxine cherished her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Her love for them was abundant. Although she came from small beginnings, she accomplished much in her life, becoming a true renaissance woman, full of grit, determination, and most of all, love.
Survivors include: her husband, Don E. Walker, Nixa; two sons, Ronnie Lynn Johnson, Springfield and Terry Allen Walker, Dogwood; her daughter in law, Sharman Walker, Nixa; four grandchildren, Missy, Mandy, Krista Lynn, and Stephen Michael "Bubs"�; a great granddaughter, Bethany; a brother, Don; two sisters and best friends, Kathleen and Jane; and her extended family and friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her son, Danny Walker; and her other brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Jerry Francisco officiating. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 P.M. immediately before the funeral on Tuesday in the funeral home.
