Max Dale Thomas, age 64, of Clever, Missouri passed away in his home Thursday, July 26, 2012. He was born August 31, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri the son of Dana and Ottobelle (Horn) Thomas. He served his Country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict and later worked as a bridge crew foreman for the Texas Department of Transportation. Max was an avid fisherman and loved to do woodworking projects for his family and friends. Survivors include: His daughter, Jessica McCowan and husband Justin of Sedalia, MO; son, Michael Thomas of Kansas City, MO; step children, Jennie Haymes and husband David of Nixa, MO, Joanne Lollis and husband Michael of Springfield, MO, Jacqui Ratcliffe, of Buffalo, MO; a brother, Danny Thomas and wife Gayle of Forsyth,MO; two sisters, Lou Ann Trent and husband James of Springfield, MO and Dana Yates and husband Everett of Springfield, MO; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and former wife Julie Thomas of Buffalo, MO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Jarrod his companion of 16 years, and a daughter, Sarah Daniel Thomas. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Doug Earls officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in Centerpoint Church Cemetery, northwest of Elkland, MO.
