Maurice (Babe) Budd

Maurice (Babe) Hubert Budd, age 73, of Highlandville passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born May 7, 1950 in Sacramento, CA to Hugh and Jewell (Anderson) Budd. Maurice was united in marriage to Diana Whistance March 12, 1982, recently celebrating 42 years of marriage.

In 1959, at the age of nine his family moved to Highlandville. Maurice helped his father in his plumbing business in his early teens. Maurice and Diana moved to Naples, FL for about 14 years, where he worked for USA Today news paper in the commercial delivery department. When he and his family returned to Highlandville, He worked for his brother, Calvin, in the roofing business.

Maurice has done some deep sea fishing. His favorite past time was building and working on cars. He enjoyed playing softball. Maurice took his family bowling every Sunday for many years. Maurice dearly loved his grandkids  and spent as much time as he could with them.

Maurice is preceded in death by  his mother Jewell; his father Hugh James; and his older brother Hugh “Jay” Jr.

Survivors include his brother Calvin Budd (Debbie); his wife Diana; sons William Budd (Holly), Aaron D. Wright (Jennifer), and Josh Budd (Flow); daughters Carrie Wright, and Brandi Chavez (Michael); grandchildren Tyler Aguinaga (Vanessa), Brook'lyn Wright (Jesus Pagan-Feliciano), Kylie Chavez, Madison Wright, Jayce Lamb, Aaron W. Wright, Lilly Budd, Kalie Budd; and great-grandchildren David Aguinaga, and Sophia Aguinaga.

The family is hosting a memorial service at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Craig Hollow Christian Union Church, 339 Aspen Rd. Highlandville, MO 65669.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged in Maurice’s name to Craig Hollow Church Highlandville, Missouri.

Arrangements were at the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory, Ozark.
