Maud Eva Springer entered this world October 31, 1926 in Hurley, to Richard and Iva Mae (Cloud) Robinson. She passed from this life Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Eva was united in marriage to James L. Springer in 1946 in Springfield.
Eva is survived by her children Patricia Beasley, and her husband Cecil, of Athens, TX, and Jim Springer and his partner Kelly Howland, of Highlandville; one brother-in-law Joseph Springer, of Lebanon; six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren; four nephews, and a very special friend Dortheta Strocky.
In the early years Maud Eva graduated Hurley High School and went on to get a teaching degree from Missouri Teachers College, Which is now MSU. Maud Eva taught school at two one room schools, Slane in Reed Spring, and the other Fairview, southeast of Clever. She also taught at the Hurley School. Maud Eva went to work for Dayco, in Springfield. She was one of the first employees, with the employee number of 13. She retired from Dayco after 27 years. In her retirement years, Maud Eva found the hobby of quilting. She made so many beautiful quilts she gave them to her entire family and her many friends, when she sold her home.
Maud Eva loved her family and was fiercely independent. She was raised during the great depression which gave her hard work ethic and her independent attitude.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015. Burial will follow at Wise Hill Cemetery, Clever.
