Mary Etta (Hunt) Wilcox, age 90, of Nixa, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, October 31, 2014. She was born April 10, 1924 in Nixa, the daughter of Fay and Agnes (Pope) Hunt. She was a graduate of Clever High School. On December 21, 1940 she and Clay Wilcox were united in marriage.
Mary Etta was committed to her family above all. She also worked as Avon District Manager for SW Missouri and NW Arkansas, managing 135 ladies, and retiring after 23 years. Among Mary Etta's hobbies were gardening, antiquing, reading, decorating, travel, and fishing.
She was a member of Clever United Methodist Church and attended High Street Baptist Church. Mary Etta's beautiful smile and positive attitude will long be remembered by family and friends.
Survivors include: Two children and their spouses, Larry and Brenda Wilcox of Kimberling City, and Joretta Wilcox and Gary Dye of Springfield; grandchildren, Darren Plank and fianc� Niesje Nelson, Kayla Wilcox O'Neal, and Kory Wilcox and wife Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Oliver Douglas O'Neal, Avery Lynn O'Neal, and Caedmon Gail Wilcox; four step-grandchildren; sister Cleo (Hunt) Davis; brother-in-law, Ray Wilcox; sisters-in-law, Mary, Vi, and Betty Wilcox; other beloved relatives and friends.
Mary Etta was preceded in death by Clay, her husband of 51 years, an infant sister, Reba Faye Hunt, her parents, and other her beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to The Gardens, The Baptist Home, and Good Shepherd Hospice for the loving care given to Mary Etta.
A funeral will be 2:15 PM Thursday, November 6, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:15 PM Thursday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Nixa.
