Mary Jane (Briner) Shreck, 90, passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2018, at her home surrounded by family, friends, love and prayer. Born Dec. 4, 1927, in Muskogee, OK, she grew up in Muskogee as part of the large Taylor family, who lived on Elgin Street. She met her future husband, Myles Everly Shreck, in Muskogee shortly after he returned from the service in Europe in World War II. They married May 29, 1948, and were together 64 years, until his death in 2013.
Mary Jane and Myles moved to Tulsa soon after their marriage, where she worked as a secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Shrecks were avid square dancers in Tulsa and made life-long friends from their square-dancing days. When their two daughters were born, Mary Jane became a full-time homemaker. She was a devoted mother. After the girls were older, she returned to work, earning money from her passion for fashion. She worked at several Tulsa department stores and was a buyer for Vandever's women's clothing. In 1996, Mary Jane and Myles retired and moved to Nixa, MO.
Mary Jane will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends, her sense of humor, her sense of style, her love of animals and her enjoyment of music and dancing.
