Mary Estelle Moore

Mary E. Moore, age 85, of Highlandville passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was born October 16, 1932 in McCook, NE to Chester and Jessie (Donham) Doner. Mary was raised in Highlandville and attended Highlandville Schools. She was in the last graduating class in Highlandville High School before the school was consolidated with Spokane School District. Mary attended Southwest Missouri State University with a bachelors degree in teaching. She taught school for over 50 years, most of which was at Highlandville and Spokane Schools, retiring in 1992. She was a wonderful teacher and taught all of the children in Highlandville and their parents. Mary was a very loving person and loved to read to her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and quilt making. Mary loved to spend time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was a wonderful mother and loved to cook for her family. She loved to read and write her memoirs. Mary loved the Lord and was a member of the Highlandville First Baptist Church. Mary is survived by her children Dan Moore, his wife Lori of Republic, Herbert Moore of Spokane, Susie Neal, her husband Gary of Highlandville; grandchildren Danny Joe Moore, his wife Robin of Lebanon, Jeremy Neal, his wife Danielle of Conway and Jared Neal of Nixa; great-grandchildren DaKota Moore and Jayse Neal. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law Becky Moore. A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2017, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highlandville Cemetery. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Highlandville First Baptist Church Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
