Mary Ada Guerin-Gibson, age 86, of Taneyville passed away Tuesday, July, 25, 2017. She was born April 10, 1931 in Fontanelle, IA to Arthur and Pearl (Ruth) Coleman. She married Charles Guerin July 28, 1946 and was married 37 years until his death in 1983. Mary later married Orville Gibson in 2009 and was married 6 years until his passing.
Mary was a Post Master for 22 years in Garrison. Mary loved working on the farm and taking care of their cattle and horses. She also managed the finances of the farm and raised six children and helped raise many of her grandchildren. Mary was a very strong woman and was used to hard work. She continued to push mow her yard at the age of 84. When she moved from the farm she had many flower beds and had the most beautiful yard. Mary had a soft side and was very loving and would help anyone. She loved the Lord and was very active in her church, Garrison Baptist Church, and enjoyed helping with vacation Bible School. Mary was a lifetime member of the Garrison Baptist Church since 1952. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children Louella Hall of Celina, TX, Bill Guerin, his wife Sue of Taneyville, Ann Reese, her husband Bill of Fordland, Marvin Guerin, his wife Diane of Chadwick, Randy Guerin, his wife Susie of Chadwick, and David Guerin, his wife Cammie of Chadwick; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; siblings Ina Whaley of Knob Noster, Eddie Coleman of Forsyth, and Judy Slocum of Ft. Worth.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Guerin; her second husband Orville Gibson; granddaughter Penny Gaston; three great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law Brent Hall.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 28, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will be at Swanville Cemetery, Chadwick.
