Mary Evalee Gibson, age 93, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born December 27, 1918 in the Shady Grove Community, near Sparta, the daughter of Albert and Nancy (Gann) Johns. She was united in marriage to Birchel Gibson on December 26, 1936. She loved being outdoors, and looked forward to gardening each spring. She loved flowers and canning her vegetables. During the winter she enjoyed quilting. Mrs. Gibson played the piano by ear and played for the Shady Grove Quartet and other singers, traveling to revivals when called. Mrs. Gibson was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include: her daughter, Judith Harvill and husband Loyd, Ozark; granddaughter, Jolene Huff and husband Tom, Sparta; three great-grandchildren, Emily Humble and husband Kevin of Belton, Steven Greene and wife Emilie, of Sparta, and Tori Greene of Sparta; two great-great-grandchildren, Gatlin Jackson and Kahlen Humble; sisters-in-law, Elinor Johns, Washington State and Leona Johns, Nixa; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Birchel, in 2003, her grandson Joel Greene, three brothers, Wesley Johns, Noel Johns and wife Marie, and Cleo Johns, and her parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor John Hyde officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 "� 7:00 PM Friday in the funeral home.
