Mary Virginia Blume

Mary Virginia Blume, age 77 of Ozark, arrived in Heaven December 5, 2021. She was born January 16, 1944 in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of William “Harold” and Marie (Drewry) Bentley. On June 12, 1965, Mary was united in marriage to James E. “Jim” Blume in San Antonio, Texas.

Survivors include: her husband Jim of Ozark; her children, Timothy Lee Blume of Tulsa, Tresa Rowe and husband Stan of Tulsa, Joy Specht and husband Mark of Ozark and Lorraine Keithley and husband Dallas of Rogersville; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a nephew, Gary Bentley and wife Antonia and three children, of Italy.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bill Bentley.

The most important thing about Mary is that she gave her heart to Jesus at an early age and faithfully lived a life surrendered to God. Mary was a missionary in New Guinea for 50 years with her husband Jim. She was a registered nurse and served on the pediatric floor at Burge in Springfield before serving overseas on the mission field. Mary served wholeheartedly and loved with everything she had. She always gave people the benefit of the doubt. Mary loved teaching the Bible to children and ladies. She was witty and creative and loved reading her Bible every morning. She counseled, encouraged and influenced anyone who came to her doorstep. Mary served Jesus by serving other people.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Weaver Cemetery, Ozark, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Ed Keithly officiating.

In addition, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Eastland Baptist Church in Tulsa.
