Marvin "Lee"� Akers, age 76 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. He was born August 20, 1934 in Indiana, the son of Loren C. and Irene (Drabenstradt) Akers. Lee served his country in the U.S. Navy and National Guard. He worked as Deputy Sheriff in California for 22 years. On March 1, 1990 he married Patricia (Lones). Survivors include: his wife, Patricia J. Akers, Ozark; two children, Laura Lee Gross, Payette, Idaho and Bruce Lee Akers and wife Teresa, Santa Clarita, California; three grandchildren, Sarah and Noah Gross and Alexys Akers; two step daughters, Lana Parsons and husband Sam, Virginia, and Crystal Barnash, California; five grandchildren, Russell Middleton and wife Molly, Rogersville, Aubrie Norton, North Carolina, Gabrielle (Nikki) Barnash, North Carolina and Samantha D. Barnash, California; two step great grandchildren, Cruz Middleton and Jenah Marie Norton. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Akers; and a step daughter, Katherine Middleton. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, April 22 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. John"�s Hospice.
