Martha Jacqueline “Jackie” Nelson of Ozark went to be with her Lord and savior in her heavenly home November 22, 2021. Jackie was born January 28, 1947 in Blytheville, Arkansas to parents James T and Marjorie Stewart. She grew up in Caruthersville, MO and was married to her high-school sweet heart Danny Nelson on June 25, 1966. Jackie continued to spend much of her life in Caruthersville and raised her only child, daughter Anna, there as well. She worked as a coder/biller for a local doctors’ clinic in the community. Jackie and her husband Danny relocated to Ozark in 2003 to be near family. Jackie continued her career as coder/biller at Mercy until her retirement.
Jackie regularly attended James River Church and worked part time in early child care. She enjoyed being with her family and her two dogs “Paris” and “Phoenix.” Jackie loved listening to country music and shopping with her granddaughter Darby. She enjoyed her grandson Tedd’s specialty cooking. She loved working crossword puzzles and often had a puzzle displayed on her kitchen table. Within the past couple of years, she had been to Disney World in Florida with her family twice. She even had an upcoming Disney trip planned with her family in December 2021.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents and husband of over 50 years. She is survived by brother Tommy Stewart and wife Frankie Stewart of Caruthersville, Missouri; daughter Dr. Anna Fraser and son in law Dr. Rick Fraser of Ozark, Missouri; and grandchildren Darby Fraser and Tedd Fraser of Ozark, Missouri. Her death was certainly sudden and unexpected, but we truly believe that God is good all the time.
A Funeral for Jackie will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark. Friends & Relatives are invited to a Visitation with the family from 4:00-6:00 P.M. the evening prior to the service, Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
